2018 has been a very strong vintage for Barossa Valley Shiraz. The wet late winter favoured vines with well moisture root zone then turned into desirable canopy development in spring. Warm and dry summer and autumn providing an excellent condition for grapes not only to ripe but bring all welcomed flavours to harvest. Located on the north-western slope of the hill, with the altitude slightly coming down, the vineyard shows the best result of the combination of temperature difference, sunlight, soil, morning frog and evening breeze. Standing on red-yellow brown loams over red clay, the roots of vines are extremely strong, which providing the base of flavour complexity. Matured dark red fruit box on nose, with loganberry and mulberry at the back. A deep breath of dark chocolate, hazelnut and bee-wax propels this wine into Barossa icon style. enriched redcurrant and blackberry are dominated, with a hint of creamy black forest cake at top front. Fine powered tannins allow silky/cashmere texture lying all around the palate with wonderful length and excellent balance.
